Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026
VectraSEO LLC ("VectraSEO," "MarryMath," "we," "us," or "our") operates MarryMath, a wedding-planning website, web application, and installable web app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to marrymath.com, the MarryMath app, and the free public tools (the timeline generator and budget calculator).
MarryMath is built for couples planning a US wedding and is not directed at, or knowingly offered to, residents outside the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account and contact information: the email address(es) you use to sign in (a MarryMath account can hold up to two emails for a couple). We use a passwordless "magic link" login, so we do not store a password.
- Wedding planning details: wedding date, whether your venue is booked, guest count, budget range, and general location ("metro area") that you enter during onboarding or later editing.
- Vendor quotes and budget information: vendor name, category, price, guest count or hours, line items, notes, and any text you paste, or documents/photos you upload, when using the quote-comparison feature. See "AI-Assisted Quote Extraction" below for how uploaded files are handled.
- Tasks and planning notes: the status and details of planning tasks on your timeline, including any notes you add.
- Payment information: if you purchase Complete or Family, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and which product you purchased — we do not receive or store your full card number or other raw payment credentials. See Stripe's own privacy policy for how Stripe handles your payment details.
- Communications: if you email us for support, we keep that correspondence to respond to you and improve the Service.
Information collected automatically
- Session cookie: a single, strictly-necessary, encrypted, HTTP-only cookie that keeps you signed in. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit and which features get used, so we know what to improve. It sets its own cookies and receives the page you viewed, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device/browser information. We have switched off Google Signals and ad personalization, so this data is not used to build advertising profiles or to retarget you, and we do not sell or share it. We deliberately never send Google the contents of your account — no wedding details, quotes, vendor names, budget figures, tasks, or email address — and sign-in links are stripped of their token before any page view is recorded. You can opt out entirely with Google's browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser; the Service works normally either way. We do not use advertising or retargeting pixels of any kind.
- Push notification data: if you opt in to reminder notifications, your browser or device registers a push subscription (an endpoint URL and encryption keys) with us so we can deliver a nudge to that device. You can revoke this at any time through your browser/device settings.
- Offline app data: as an installable web app, MarryMath may cache app assets and limited data on your device so parts of the app work offline. This stays on your device and is managed by your browser.
- Basic technical/log data: our infrastructure provider (AWS) generates standard request logs (e.g., IP address, timestamp, requested path) as part of running the servers. We use this for security, debugging, and abuse prevention, not for profiling.
Information you volunteer to the Real Quote Index
The Real Quote Index is a public, entirely separate contribution form at /quote-index/submit where anyone can share what a wedding vendor actually quoted them, so that price transparency in this industry stops depending on vendors volunteering it. Because it is a standalone form you choose to fill in, it is opt-in by construction — nothing from your MarryMath account is ever contributed to the Index, automatically or otherwise, and using the Index is not required to use the Service.
- What it collects: only the metro area, vendor category, guest count, total quoted price, and any line items you type in.
- What it deliberately does not collect: the vendor's name, your name, your email, or any other identifier. The form requires no sign-in, and a submission is stored with no link to any MarryMath account — including yours, if you happen to have one.
- Abuse prevention: because the form is open to the public, we rate-limit submissions by IP address. That check is transient and the IP address is not stored on the submission.
- How it is used: submissions are being collected to build a metro-level pricing corpus. They do not currently feed the fairness flags shown in the app, which still band against published national averages as described above. Before Index data is ever used to generate a fairness flag, we will say so here first.
2. AI-Assisted Quote Extraction and Personalization
MarryMath uses Anthropic's Claude models, accessed through Anthropic's commercial API, to (a) read a pasted quote, uploaded PDF, or uploaded photo and pull out structured details (vendor, price, line items), and (b) generate personalized planning-timeline text and fairness-flag explanations.
- When you paste text or upload a file for quote extraction, that content is sent to Anthropic's API for the single purpose of extracting the information you asked for. The extracted result is shown to you to review and edit before anything is saved to your account — nothing is saved unless you confirm it.
- Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, Anthropic does not use data submitted through its commercial API to train its models, and automatically deletes API inputs and outputs from its systems on a short retention schedule (Anthropic's published commercial retention policy is 30 days, subject to limited exceptions for legal or safety requirements).
- We do not use your quotes, tasks, or notes to train our own AI models.
- Fairness flags are generated from published national pricing averages (currently The Knot 2026 Real Weddings Study), not from a database of other users' quotes. Every flag shows you its source, sample size, and date.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- create and secure your account and authenticate you via magic link;
- generate your personalized wedding-planning timeline and dashboard;
- extract, compare, and fairness-flag vendor quotes you choose to submit;
- track your budget against what you've planned, been quoted, contracted, and paid;
- process a Complete/Family purchase and apply the corresponding unlock to your account;
- send account-related email (magic-link sign-in, receipts, and, if you don't opt out, planning reminders/digests) and push notifications you've opted into;
- maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service, including detecting abuse and enforcing free-tier limits; and
- respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your personal information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with wedding vendors, lead-generation networks, or advertisers. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers who help us run MarryMath (each acting under a services agreement, for our purposes only): Anthropic (AI quote extraction and personalization, see Section 2), Stripe (payment processing), Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, email delivery via SES, and related infrastructure), Google (Google Analytics 4, limited to the page-view and device data described in Section 1), and DNSCove (domain/DNS management). We use no error-monitoring, session-recording, or logging vendor beyond the standard AWS request logs described in Section 1.
- Legal and safety reasons: if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MarryMath, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: if MarryMath is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a successor policy of which you'll be notified.
- With your direction: the Family tier lets you grant an additional seat (e.g., a parent) read or co-edit access to your account's planning and budget information — that sharing is a feature you control, not a disclosure to us.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Account deletion is currently handled by request rather than self-serve: email us from the address on your account and we will confirm it is you, then delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we need to keep limited records for legal, tax, dispute-resolution, or fraud-prevention purposes. You can download everything in your account first, at any time and on any tier, from Settings. Magic-link sign-in tokens expire and are deleted automatically shortly after issuance whether or not they're used.
6. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what personal information we hold about you, to access or receive a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of California and a number of other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights under their state's law; because we want every MarryMath user to be able to trust us with this information, we honor these requests for all users, regardless of state of residence or whether our business meets a particular state law's applicability thresholds.
Full data export is available to every account, on any tier, at any time from within the app — this is a deliberate trust commitment independent of any legal requirement.
To exercise a privacy right, email privacy@marrymath.com. We'll verify your request using your account email before acting on it. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, consistent with applicable law.
7. Children's Privacy
MarryMath is intended for adults planning their own wedding, or parents of a couple using the Family tier, and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at privacy@marrymath.com and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including encryption of data in transit, hashed/short-lived sign-in tokens, and infrastructure access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email and/or an in-app notice before the change takes effect, and will not apply material changes retroactively to how we've already used previously collected information without your consent where required by law. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
